Brian Schechter To Become Stuntman

Brian Schechter, who first managed My Chemical Romance, and is largely responsible for the groups success, is all set to becoming a stuntman. He is currently attending the International Stunt School in Washington in hope of getting a job in the movies due to economic recession.

Brian Schechter already knows it’s tough to break into entertainment — he’s done it once already, as manager of the platinum-selling rock band My Chemical Romance. But after touring the world and building his own management company, Schechter found himself burned out and looking for a second act.

So after shutting down his business, the 31-year-old is betting that some connections around L.A. — along with a love of skydiving and other thrill-seeking sports — can give him a leg up as a rookie stuntman.

If that sounds risky, Schechter said, it can’t be much worse than starting over in the music business, where online distribution and piracy have hammered traditional album sales.

“I never did it for money, but it’s not there anymore,” Schechter said. “It just isn’t. To develop an artist in that business the same way — I’d rather bet on myself and develop this.”

In the video below Schechter talks briefly about finding work in the recession and performs a few stunts. He appears at approxmiatley 1:44. To view the original article at The Augusta Chronicle, click here.

YouTube And Warner Music Group Deal

YouTube Warner Deal

YouTube Warner Deal

Ever clicked a link to view a My Chemical Romance video on YouTube only to find that it has been removed or muted?, yes?, we’ve all been there. Well, earlier this week YouTube and Warner Music Group made a deal that the record company would no longer remove or flag videos that feature songs by their artists, instead YouTube will be inserting Warner Music ads on their videos.

Last year, Warner pulled its videos from the world’s leading video-sharing site but will now be back as part of a new revenue-sharing deal.

Perhaps more importantly, Warner won’t flag third-party videos that feature the songs it owns. The unauthorized clips will stream on, with YouTube slapping ads on those videos on behalf of Warner.

Warner may have had every legal right to force third-party clips to go silent if they included prerecorded music by its acts, including Nickelback and My Chemical Romance. But doing so was just stupid. It creates fan resentment. It nixes free artist promotion. This new deal is the right way for labels to go about things. It’s a win-win-win situation, since the viewer doesn’t have to curse label-signed talent while Google and Warner make a little more money.

Volturi Take Style Tips From MCR?

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

FirstShowing.net premiered three new posters for the upcoming Twilight release, “New Moon” yesterday. The third poster (see right) featured the vampire coven known as the Volturi. In the article it is mentioned that the clan took their style tips from My Chemical Romance, I believe it just to be a comparison, I doubt there’s any truth in it, but heres the snippet anyway:

Finally, here’s the vampire coven known as the Volturi, who apparently took style tips from My Chemical Romance.

Battle Of The Emo Bands

I know My Chemical Romance are not emo, but this made me laugh. I’m not sure if it’s series or not, but it compares AFI, Good Charlotte, Panic! At The Disco and My Chemical Romance as to who is the most emo, and guess who wins… Enjoy.

Emo Blamed For Teen Suicide

My Chemical Romance have been linked to another teen suicide. An article posted at 24dash.com tells the tragic news of 13 year old Sam Leeson, who was bullied to suicide last June for apparently being emo.

Sam Leeson, 13, who wore black clothes and was a follower of the darkly emotional Emo rock genre, was found hanging in his bedroom in Gloucester in June last year.

Emo, which is short for emotional music, is described as “punk with emotion”, and has been made popular by bands like My Chemical Romance, whose album The Black Parade topped the charts.

Pete Wentz Compared To Gerard?

Gerard gets a mention in an post at KillYourStereo.com about Pete Wentz’s plans to release a 5 part comic book series. I know, the two are nothing alike, don’t get me started on Pete Wentz.

Although Fall Out Boy bass player Pete Wentz is not an avid comic book fan, he has committed to a 5 part comic book series, similar to My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way.

That’s all that’s said, view the original post here.

MCR Mentioned In Flyleaf Article

My Chemical Romance were mentioned in an article at Blabbermouth.net about Flyleafs upcoming album. The band were mentioned as having worked with Howard Benson, who produced 2004’s “Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge”.

To record “Memento Mori”, the Belton, Texas-based quintet again teamed with producer Howard Benson, who — in addition to FLYLEAF’s debut — is known for his work with PAPA ROACH, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS.

They were only mentioned the once, but if you’re intrested you can read the full article here.
