An article was posted at RollingStone.com earlier this week. In it, Gerard reveals how The Stooges and MC5 influenced the new album.

“We wanted to harness everything that’s great about this band into shorter songs, almost protopunk, like The Stooges or the MC5.”

Gerard also admits that the band nearly split up after touring The Black Parade in May last year.

“I thought the band was going to break up.”

The rest of the article briefly discusses their new musical direction and a few song names. You can read it all at RollingStone.com. NME.com also posted an article earlier today summing up the interview, nothing new, just a round up.

Here are two pictures of Gerard, Lindsey And Bandit taken on Halloween last month. They were originally posted on Lindsey’s Twitter page on November 3rd. They have both been added to the gallery.

Gerard Talks Album Concept

Gerard recently spoke to Kerrang! magazine, revealing that the new album has no overall concept.

“Our original game plan was to make a very quick, very visceral record. To be able to let go of your game plan is really hard. There were many times where we had to really move on our feet very quickly and say, ‘No, the album’s taking a turn and we need to accept it, because if we fight it we’ll end up with a record that doesn’t make any sense’. Everything is taking so much longer, in a really great way. We’ve never been able to go through the songs like this and get things as great as we possibly can. It’s always been like, ‘You’ve got three months to record and two weeks to mix, then you’re back on an airplane to go tour again!’. This time, we afforded ourselves the luxury of exploring every song.”

Wayne Coyne Recalls The Voodoo Music Experience 2006

In an interview with offbeat.com, The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne recalls an incident during My Chemical Romance’s set at the 2006 Voodoo Music Experience, where a young girl had her teeth knocked out.

…the worst thing I saw was watching a 14-year-old girl get her teeth knocked out during My Chemical Romance. But she was very happy because she was in the front row.
