Thanks a ton to A$h for the news. Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge is nominated as the best album of the past 25 years and Gerard Way is nominated as the Hottest Sex God at Spin.com. The issue of Spin magazine containing the results has already been published, but voting remains open. Three Cheers came in at #5 as the best album, whilst Gerard did not make the top 5 hottest sex gods. If you still want to cast your vote you can do so at Spin.com.

This was posted a few weeks ago, but as news is a little slow right now, I figured I may aswell post it. FT.com published an article on 16th April about “pop stars” branching out into graphic novels. The first part mentions Gerard’s work on The Umbrella Academy and appearance at London’s Forbidden Planet megastore back in 2007.
“The cult entertainment department store just off Covent Garden was normally a quiet place: geeky adult males wrapped around Star Trek paraphernalia, engrossed in the latest Garth Ennis tome or eyeing up the limited edition Street Fighter figurines. But that day was different. A sea of figures dressed in black threatened to engulf the whole building. It was a blur of skeleton hoodies and faces hidden beneath layers of kohl eyeliner and hennaed hair, as scores of scowling teenagers lined the pavement. They were waiting for a chance to meet their hero…”

MTV.com have posted an article about how the unauthorized “The Midnight Curfew” DVD became confused with My Chemical Romance’s fourth studio album.
“So how did “Curfew” end up on MTV.com? Well, data for upcoming releases is automatically pulled from AllMusic.com, which does, in fact, have a page listing for the DVD. MTV News’ e-mails to AllMusic seeking comment were not returned by press time.”
Mikey revealed on his Twitter earlier today that “The Midnight Curfew” is in fact an unofficial release, and would not be the title of My Chemical Romance’s fourth studio album.

RockSound.tv have posted an article about “The Midnight Curfew” title rumours and Mikeys Twitter post.

A Road Less Traveled
While we’re on the subject of upcoming DVD releases, My Chemical Romance: A Road Less Travelled is due for release on May 4th 2010.
This documentary charts the entire history of My Chemical Romance from their earliest days spent playing to a local following, to their signing with a major label, to the taking of their music and message to a global audience, to becoming the blueprint for a hundred tame copycats. The film gives the inside story of this extraordinary act through exclusive interviews, location shoots, previously unpublished photographs and footage, and a wealth of other material, which all at once makes for a fluid and focused insight into the past, present and future of MCR. Also features extras such as photo gallery, the MCR interactive challenge and digital contributor biographies, plus the ‘beyond DVD’ section for the true collectors.

Another unofficial release, which is available to per-order now at Amazon.com.

The Midnight Curfew
A new My Chemical Romance DVD, “The Midnght Curfew” is due for release on June 29th.
The story of their formation is legendary, their rise to fame has been extraordinary and their influence is everywhere – and now the eyeliner crowd’s favourite band are roaring back into the fray. Gerard Way’s group has been a lesson in ‘how to connect’ for young bands across the world, moving from their New Jersey roots to global superstardom in a few short years. MCR’s combination of dark theatricality, a message that resonates globally and melodies that’ll hook you from mile away have been the catalyst for the intense connection that fans have forged with this extraordinary collective.
This two disc set allows Chem fans everywhereto get closer than ever to their heroes, with the most thorough and entertaining DVD documentary yet about MCR, covering their entire history and including exclusive interviews, contributions from those who have been intimately involved throughout their history and the finest music journalists and writers analysing recordings and performances by the group.
Also included is a CD interview disc containing more than an hour of rare audio interviews with the band in which they all reveal more than they have ever done previously.
- Summary from ChromeDreams.co.uk
It looks to me as if it’s an unofficial release. I wouldn’t be expecting another Life on the Murder Scene, but it does sound pretty good. The title has been listed as an album at MTV.com and AOL Music, speculating that “The Midnight Curfew” could also be the name of My Chemical Romance’s fourth studio album. Personally, I doubt it, but we’ll wait and see. American fans can pre-order now at Amazon.com, and UK fans can pre-order at ChromeDreams.co.uk, who also offer worldwide shipping.
