Even More Reading & Leeds Rumors
Up until last week I had My Chemical Romance down as a definite Reading & Leeds headliner. Now that the album has been delayed and the guys are back in the studio one member down, I’m not so sure. AlbumVote.co.uk published an article yesterday claiming My Chem to still be one of the headlining acts.
“Arcade Fire are to be confirmed as one of the headliners for the 2010 Reading and Leeds Festivals which take place in August.
The Canadian legends, who are currently recording the follow up to 2007′s ‘Neon Bible’, will be joined by the recently reformed Blink 182 and emo rockers My Chemical Romance as the three headliners for the three day event.”
Confirmation of 2010′s line-up is expected within the next few weeks, then we’ll know for sure if the band will be playing or not.
New My Chemical Romance Album Delayed
Spin.com have posted an article stating that a fall 2010 release date is more likely for My Chemical Romances fourth album. There is also some speculation that the completed tracks featuring Bob Bryar may not be included in the final release.
“Last December, the band’s fourth album appeared to be on target for a Spring release, but now the remaining members are heading back into the studio, making a Fall 2010 on-sale date more likely.
Reps for MCR’s label played seven new songs for SPIN staffers in December, which featured Bryar’s drum work, but now, with the band writing and recording again, it’s unclear how many of those tracks will make the final album.”
It seems obvious now that the album won’t be ready in time for the initial spring 2010 release date, however I’m sure it will feature Bob on the drums. Any thoughts on that?
Drummer Depeatrure Cover-Up
I was wondering how long it would take for someone else to piece together Gerard’s supposed vocal problems and Bob’s departure.
“It appears emo heroes My Chemical Romance weren’t entirely telling the truth when they begged off last month’s Soundwave Festival. The American band’s official explanation was frontman Gerard Way had been ordered off the road because of “severe vocal problems”. But maybe he strained his throat screaming at drummer Bob Bryar. The band yesterday made an official statement on their website that they “parted ways” with the drummer four weeks ago, just before they were due in Australia.”
I haven’t turned anti My Chem, but this rift has thrown me a little. I feel really let down that they lied to us about it. View the rest of that article at news.com.au.
Bob Bryar Leaves My Chemical Romance
“As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same.”
Frank also briefly mentioned the progress on the new record. Head over to MyChemicalRomance.com for the full post. Good luck to Bob, we wish him all the best. Drinking Souls will continue to follow his progress.
More Reading & Leeds Rumors
efestivals.co.uk has mentioned My Chemical Romance as being a possible third healiner of this years Reading & Leeds festivals.
“And finally, the act we’re least sure of but believe are the third headliner are My Chemical Romance.”
Bob Bryar Out Of My Chemical Romance?
According to an article at notifiradio.com Bob Bryar is out of the band.
“Looks like My Chemical Romance’s drummer is out of the band. According to a reliable source, who heard from drummer Bob Bryar’s family, an arguement of some sort ensued between Bryar and the rest of the band and Bob is out. A link to Bob’s twitter account on www.mychemicalromance.com has been disabled.”
Personally, I don’t think there’s any truth in it whatsoever, it’s just another rumor. Bob’s Twitter link has been disabled on the official site, but I believe this is just because his Twitter page was set to private and has probably now been deleted.
Credit goes to brandyway from the Mikey Way Online Cbox for that news.
